THE TASK
To launch the new Xperia X10 mobile phone in the Australian market and let people know that their best handset to date is the best way to connect with people.
THE IDEA
Xperia Social Xperiments. A one day event that aimed to show people how well an Xpeia handset could connect you to your friends. How liked can one man get in just one day? And more importantly, what would he do to be liked?
We put emerging Australian comedian Tommy Little in our Xperia lab for one day, with only a webcam and his Xperia handset. Viewers then interacted with him directly through his X10, setting him challenges along the way. Tommy got up to some crazy stuff, from waxing his legs to prank-calling people in the cinema. It was 8 hours of quality brand owned content, and a very brave move for the client.
THE RESULTS
- Over 1500 likes in 8 hours
- 5 messages sent to Tommy every minute
- Huge turnaround in brand sentiment on the brand Facebook page
